How to Replace your iPhone 3G/3GS Battery

Maybe it is time to replace the battery in your iPhone 3G/3GS

Apple doesn’t make it possible for you to replace your iPhone 3G/3GS battery yourself.  Instead, you have to send the phone back to Apple, then pay them $79 (plus another $6.95 shipping and then tax too); and after spending all of this, you don’t even get your own iPhone back!

They not only replace the battery, but they swap your phone for a comparable used phone.  This means you lose all your settings and software and data, and if your phone was unlocked, you lose that too.  In addition, if your phone is discovered as being unlocked, or if Apple believes the phone not to be in good condition, they’ll return your phone untouched.

The iPhone 3G and 3GS phones are generally reaching a point in their lives where they are starting to need new batteries.  So we’ve come up with a better service.  Send your phone to us, and we’ll replace the battery in it and then send your own iPhone back to you.  We think you’d probably prefer your own phone returned to you than someone else’s!

And if your phone is unlocked, we’ll smile and not be otherwise worried.  Better still, if it isn’t yet unlocked, we can unlock it for you at the same time.

Best of all, our price is lower.  $50 and $2.50 shipping (and sales tax for WA residents only).  If you want your phone unlocked at the same time, that is another $25.

We’ve been unlocking cell phones for eight years.  Replacing iPhone batteries seems like a logical extension of the service.  We hope you agree.

So if your iPhone 3G or 3GS battery (we don’t replace batteries in the original iPhones, and the new iPhone 4 phones are too new to really need replacement batteries yet) is no longer getting you through a full day with plenty of power to spare, maybe it is time to give it a midlife update.
